UserGems + lemlist Overview
lemlist is a sales engagement and cold outreach platform used to automate and personalize prospecting campaigns across email, LinkedIn, calls, and more.
Your UserGems FDE will guide you through the process of connecting UserGems + lemlist. At a high level, setup takes around 8 activities from your team (details below). Someone new to domains and email setup should expect to spend 1–1.5 business days on the steps labeled "Customer."
Plan your timeline around mailbox warming. If you're standing up new domains or mailboxes, lemlist recommends warming them for about a month before you send outbound from them, and not running campaigns using those mailboxes during that window. Everything else on this list can happen in parallel, so start warming as early in onboarding as you can. If you're using mailboxes that are already warm and in good standing, you can skip that wait.
For the step-by-step build, see UserGems & lemlist Configuration with Gem-E Messaging.

If you're new to lemlist, create an account and purchase a plan
Note: Select your plan based on your team's outbounding needs. Multichannel Expert or above is recommended. Any lemlist plan works with the UserGems webhook, but LinkedIn and call steps require Multichannel Expert or Enterprise. On the Email plan you can run the Autopilot template but not the two Co-pilot templates.

For customers new to outbound email it's important to begin warming mailboxes ASAP — plan on about a month before they're ready for outbound.

|

Strongly recommended: Integrate lemlist + your CRM
Not a required step but highly useful to enable syncing of activities from lemlist > CRM and using dynamic email senders (i.e. use lead or contact owner as campaign sender). Adding lemlist's recommended fields to CRM will also enable activity reporting there if needed (i.e. I want to see within Salesforce how many prospects are active in lemlist campaigns)
Estimated time commitment: 30 minutes

Required for dynamic senders: create a Contact Owner Email field in your CRM
lemlist matches senders on the owner's email address. Salesforce: a formula field returning Owner.Email. HubSpot: a custom text property populated by workflow — there's no built-in owner-email property. Allow a few hours for the value to populate before testing.
Estimated time commitment: 15–30 minutes (Salesforce), 30–60 minutes (HubSpot)
