UserGems MCP Early Access (Claude)

The UserGems MCP is launching this quarter, and we can’t wait to give you an early look.

The instructions below walk you through how to set up your MCP, the skills it already has, and most importantly how to send us feedback.

Thank you so much for taking the time to test and give us feedback! We’re looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Your access runs through the month of August.

Before you start

1. Complete your onboarding session

Access is gated until after your one-time session with our Product Team.

Haven’t scheduled your onboarding session yet? Book yours here.

2. Check your Claude plan

Your Claude planWhat to know
Pro or MaxYou’re all set. Setup takes about 60 seconds.
Team or EnterpriseAdding connectors is usually reserved for workspace Owners. If you can’t add one yourself, your Claude admin can do it for you (instructions below).
FreeFree accounts support one custom connector at a time.

Not sure which plan you’re on? Click your name (bottom-left) → Settings. Your plan is listed at the top.

Part 1 — Set up your MCP

One-time setup. Takes about 60 seconds.

Step 1 — Open Claude Desktop and confirm you’re logged in

You should land on the home screen with the chat composer in the middle. Your name appears in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar when you’re logged in.

Step 2 — Open Settings

Click your name in the bottom-left to open the profile menu, then click Settings.

Step 3 — Go to Connectors

The Settings panel opens on General. In the left sidebar, scroll to the Customize section and click Connectors.

Step 4 — Add UserGems as a custom connector

Click the Add button in the top-right of the Connectors panel, choose Add custom connector, and paste this URL:

https://app.usergems.com/mcp/usergems

Make sure you’re logged in to UserGems in your browser first. The connector authorizes against your active UserGems session.

If you do not see an option to add a custom connector, this means a Claude Admin is required to set this up (send them this article for assistance).

Step 5 — Authorize

Click Connect. You’ll be redirected to UserGems’ authorization page, which shows “Authorize Claude” with your email under Logged in as.

Confirm the email is correct and click Authorize.

You’ll be redirected back, and the UserGems connector will flip to Connected.

Step 6 — Verify it works

Open a new chat and type:

What UserGems tools do you have available?

You should get back a list of UserGems tools. Once you see them, try any play from the tables below.

Start a fresh conversation after connecting. Existing chats won’t pick up the new connector.

If you need your Claude admin to add it

Some Claude workspaces reserve connector setup for admins.

First — make sure they have UserGems access. If they don't already have an account, invite them: click your profile in the upper-right corner → UsersInvite User.

Then — send them the block below. Forward it to whoever administers your company's Claude account, usually IT or an ops lead. It takes them under a minute.

Hi — I’m testing the UserGems MCP integration and need a custom connector added to our Claude workspace.

1. Go to Organization settings → Connectors
2. Click Add
3. Hover Custom, then select Web
4. Paste this URL: https://app.usergems.com/mcp/usergems
5. Click Add

Each person still signs in with their own UserGems login and their own permissions after this.

Once your admin has added it, open Settings → Connectors, find UserGems in the list, and click Connect. Then follow Step 5 above to authorize.

Permissions and approvals. The first time Claude calls a UserGems tool it asks you to approve it. Confirm whether all tools default to “Always ask,” and which are safe to set to “Always allow.” Matters most for write actions: campaign creation, CRM writes, sequence enrollment.

Part 2 — What you can do today

Everything in this section is live and available to you right now, running against your own UserGems workspace and your own CRM data.

For reps

What you can doWhat it doesNotes / prerequisites
Search accounts & prospectsFind accounts and the right people at them
Get account infoFull account picture in one prompt: firmographics, buying stage, current signals, funding, news
Pull intelSignal and score history of an account over time, plus intel from past conversations and deal historyRequires Gong connected for past-call intel
Rank best prospectsThe right people to reach at an account, ranked, with why they qualify
Run account researchAsk complex questions answered about any account in your CRM data and public sources (“why now”, or any custom question)
Draft personalized emailsGem-E writes a tailored message using its instructions and your content libraryPersonalizes for known contacts today

For admins

What you can doWhat it doesNotes
Set up a campaign (guided)Build a campaign from scratch — audience, actions, schedule — from a prompt, saved as a reviewable draftSupports outbound and marketing branches
See what’s runningList and search live campaigns; pull their audiences and actions (e.g. “show me all campaigns with contact-level intent”)
Create / edit / clone campaignsFull lifecycle: edit, clone, pause, archive
Configure campaign actionsAdd to sequence (Outreach, Salesloft), Gem-E messages, CRM writes (fields, tasks, owner, CRM campaigns), email, Slack alerts, ad-audience sync (LinkedIn, Meta, Google), webhook, research step, timed delays
Build & inspect audiencesFull filter set including CRM custom fields; see who matches, check a sample, get record counts; find existing audiences
Set sending controlsCaps per day, account, owner, rep
Manage & test Gem-EGlobal and campaign-level instructions, content library (case studies, value props, sample emails, links, conditional instructions); preview and test messaging
Research at scaleRun research across a whole audience within a campaign

Three prompts worth trying in your first session:

  • “Give me the full picture on [account] — buying stage, signals, and who I should reach.”
  • “Show me all campaigns using contact-level intent and how many records each is hitting.”
  • “Build me an audience of accounts in [segment] with [signal] and tell me how many match.”

Part 3 — How to give us feedback

This is the part that matters most. Two channels.

1. Rate a session within Claude

At the end of any session where the MCP did something — created a campaign, sized an audience, drafted an email, ran research — type one of these:

  • I want to review this session
  • Rate this session
  • Give feedback on this session

From there you can provide your feedback to us directly in Claude.

What we especially want to hear: where it got something factually wrong, where it was slower than doing the same thing in the app, and anything you tried that it couldn’t do.

2. The Slack channel

You’ll be added to a shared Slack channel with our Product and CS teams. Use it for anything that doesn’t fit a survey — questions, screenshots of odd behavior, “can it do X?”, or just thinking out loud.

Slack channel name: #x_ug-mcp-early-access

Part 4 — Coming soon

AgentWhat it will do
Data AgentUpload people and accounts (Salesforce report, HubSpot list, CSV, Google Sheet) into UserGems and your CRM with fields mapped for you; turn any list into a named, filtered signal
Reporting AgentMetrics and patterns across signals, campaigns, and content: reply rates, opps generated and closed, time from signal to first message, where things stall
Intelligence AgentSurfaces gaps and proposes the multi-step fix, and can make the change on its own
Scoring AgentPersona, ICP, and scoring in one place, with a live preview of score impact

Good to know

Review before it acts. The MCP can create campaigns, write to your CRM, and enroll prospects into sequences. Claude will ask for your approval before each action, so read those prompts. Campaign creation saves as a reviewable draft, and every write action is worth treating as something you’re signing off on.

Expect some rough edges. This is an early look at something we’re still building. You may hit a wrong answer, a slow response, or a tool that doesn’t quite do what you asked. Tell us when it happens — that’s how it gets better before the open beta.

Your access runs through August 31, 2026. We’ll be in touch before then about what comes next. Anything you build in UserGems during early access stays in UserGems.

Troubleshooting

ProblemTry this
No “Add custom connector” optionYour Claude workspace reserves this for admins. Send them the block in Part 1.
Can’t connect at allConfirm you’ve completed your onboarding session. Access is gated until after that call.
Connector shows Connected, but no UserGems tools appearStart a brand-new conversation. Existing chats don’t pick up new connectors.
Authorized against the wrong accountLog out of UserGems in your browser, log back in, then remove and re-add the connector.
Connection fails or times outClaude reaches our server from Anthropic’s cloud rather than your laptop. If your company routes traffic through a strict proxy, ask IT to allow app.usergems.com.
Need to change the connector URLConnectors can’t be edited. Remove it and add it again.
A tool returns an error or empty resultNote what you asked, then rate the session (Part 3) and include the conversation URL. That’s the fastest path to a fix.
Something is missing that should be there (e.g. Gong intel)Check the prerequisite column in Part 2. If the integration isn’t connected, that tool returns empty.
